For beginners of any age I begin with a simple method of my own design for understanding how rhythm works. With simple step by step instructions, complex coordination becomes easy to understand. For intermediate students, refining technique through musical exercises and carefully selected repetoire is priority number one. For advanced students, the goal is to break down patterns that the player relies on to open up new possibilites. In all facets MUSICAL PLAYING is the priority. Read More

As I said before, I like to teach as I was taught and add things I've learned along the way. Learning any instrument, I was told, is like building a house; you need to lay a strong foundation upon which to add walls, doors, windows, and decor (styles, techniques, feels, and your own personal strokes unique to each individual....there's no roof because you can never finish learning!). Drums especially focus on the base, because of their role in any musical group. Read More

I have had a lifelong passion for music as far back as I can ever remember. I was exposed to a wide variety of different musical genres from a very young age, and developed an interest in percussion when I was 3 years old. Drumset is my main instrument, but I am also proficient in classical percussion, marching percussion, and mallets. in 2005, I studied at the BOCES Long Island High School for the Arts in Syosset, and in 2009 Ireceived a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Performance from SUNY New Paltz.Iwas a member of my High School Stage Band, Jazz Band, and was section leader/head snare drummer of the Commack High School Marching Band. Being able to read music well allows you to pursue any type of written music you want to learn. Daily experimentation on your instrument can teach you more about the instrument and yourself than any book or teacher. These are the three main aspects that I focus in my own development (I'm still learning too!). For my piano students, I encourage them to search out opportunities to perform the music they work on every week. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs.. Read More
Instruments: Guitar Drums
I will teach them at their pace and include songs at their level to make it interesting. In Dec I do Christmas Songs, Duets with my students and as they progress I will even pair them with a student on the same instrument to duet with or with a drum or guitar student (different from their instrument ) to get a band feel! That is always so awesome for all involved! Read More

I make sure that my students go at a pace that works for them. I try to find out what kind of learner they are and then I tweak my curriculum to best accommodate them. I always do my best to make sure that my students are having fun over anything else. Incorporating songs from both my library, and ones that the student already knows, we develop ear training skills by playing along and trying to copy the pros! Read More
