My teaching experiences started when I was in college, a fellow classmate of mine needed help with some of her younger students and the world of music education opened up to me from there. I have been teaching steadily now for 7 years, working with students from ages 5-55. I have taught group and private lessons in music studios, students' homes, or my own home studio. Students I have come across in time have come with a multitude of personality types, learning patterns and physical challenges. Read More

I have a very fun yet effective teaching style. I try to help students reach their personal goals on the instrument. I also like to recognize each achievement no matter how small to show my students how their practicing and hard work has paid off. I want each student to progress at their own pace and mostly to show them what the world of music has to offer. Read More

I started playing drums and percussion 12 years ago, both classically, and privately trained. I was taught all play styles, and approaches to percussive arts. In high school, I was apart of a drum line and in 2015, I started drumming in a Rockabilly group in southern Illinois. Shortly after, I began to fill in for a rock band, jazz band, and another rockabilly band in the area. Since moving to Texas, I have started to teach with Hays CISD as a guest teacher/tutor. For beginning and young students, we always start with fundamental concepts - producing a good sound, developing a sense of rhythm and pulse, building music reading skills, and fostering good practice habits. Once these skills have been developed, we progess to working solo repertoire and ensemble music. As student age and ability levels increase, I like to give the student increased input in the direction of study. No matter what, we keep things interesting and engaging, and fun! Read More
