I have been a very active performing drummer for the past 20 years. I recorded three albums that were released worldwide with my band Scelerata. I did five Brazilian tours (50+ shows) as Paul DiAnno’s (former Iron Maiden’s lead singer) official drummer, from 2009 to 2014. For younger students with no sight reading experience, I will typically start of with Ted Reed's book Syncopation. This book starts the student off with a very basic music notation vocabulary. This vocabulary is often quickly absorbed so that the student may proceed to more complicated musical words or phrases.
