We are all lovers of music in one way or another. It's my thought to help students develop a love of learning the art of playing an instrument and being connected to the music in such a direct way. I'm very patient with a students challenges and always encourage them to never give up. I always want to stress that each one of our voices matter when creating music. My teaching style is also about having multi media available for the student to either, see, hear and experience different forms of music in our lessons. Read More

That being said, I like to let my students guide the direction we take in my lessons. We can work on beginner drum skills together, writing your own music, music theory, learning cover songs to play and much more! We can also change course at any moment as your needs change over time. I want to mention that I am a transgender female and I use she/her pronouns but this has no bearing on my ability to teach amazing lessons and I am one of the kindest and funniest people you'll ever meet! I strive for the right balance between enjoyment and progress. I believe, especially for beginners and younger students, a good atmosphere is the most important thing; I want them to have a good impression of music and the instrument. There are a multitude of ways to learn the drums so I believe it is important to find the right way for each student. I listen to the student and try to learn who they are and how they learn best first and foremost, then I use my knowledge to guide them down a path of learning that is most natural. Read More

I started playing drums when I was 10 years old in my elementary school band.  Quickly, I became hooked to practicing and getting better and growing as a musician. I also fell in love with music and it's healing abilities. As a teenager, I played in my high school concert band, jazz band and had my own rock bands outside of school. I was hungry for anything to make me a better drummer. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Read More

I am looking to build my teaching experience on Musika but I have taught a few unofficial lessons to students in their teenage years. I was also a section leader at Cresskill High School, where I led, trained, and directed the drumline. Through this experience, I have helped unlock my students' potential and build them into more well-rounded drummers. I like to encourage regular practice with a consistent schedule that my student feels comfortable with. Read More

I have been lucky enough to have been teaching for 45 years I have taught privately for a short period of time I also taught at Plainview high school as a drill instructor working with the students in the marching band and helping some of them prepare for nysma solos I really had a great time doing that for about a year and a half I taught at Sam Ash for group lessons for promotion the main thing that I like to do is get students to be proficient enough to be able to play two songs to be able to play in a band also too to be able to prepare for playing the band in whatever school they happen to be in college preparation audition preparation auditioning for America's got talent anything the student wants to do but the main thing that I really like to emphasize is having them be able to play to songs I like to teach all styles of music really working around with a student wants to do it's been really rewarding for me and it's always a great experience many of my students have gone on to play professionally and have achieved great technical skills it's great to see that happening. Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
