While attending Berklee, I had countless one-on-one and small group sessions with fellow drummers where we would bounce ideas off one another and give each other "mini lessons," breaking down specific grooves and licks. In October, 2014, I led an hour-long master class for other Berklee percussion students about advanced polyrhythmic concepts and applications. When a new student comes in for their first lesson, I always make sure that they have a grasp of the fundamentals. Without the fundamentals it is very easy to develop poor technique that will at best limit them in what can be accomplished on the instrument, and at worst lead to pain or injury from playing. While I was a student I began to study with some truly great musicians who really helped me realize my potential.
