My career as a professional musician has taken me on countless performance tours throughout USA, Japan, China, Malaysia, Korea, Brazil, Spain, Portugal, France, and more. My band The Mattson 2 has released six albums. Notable records include "Chaz Bundick Meets The Mattson 2: Star Stuff" (2017), "Ray Barbee Meets The Mattson 2" (2009), and "Agar" (2015). In 2007 I joined the faculty of one of Brazil’s finest drum institutes, called Bateras Beat, where I taught for ten invigorating years. For younger students with no sight reading experience, I will typically start of with Ted Reed's book Syncopation. This book starts the student off with a very basic music notation vocabulary. This vocabulary is often quickly absorbed so that the student may proceed to more complicated musical words or phrases.
