I've been teaching since college and in my home for about 6 years. I;ve taught generally beginners but am always looking to expand and share my knowledge. I encourage my students to be free thinking and self-motivated, but it is my job to guide you in the process. I want my students to feel comfortable making mistakes because with each mistake is an opportunity to learn a new concept or fix an underlying problem. I also encourage students to suggest material to be played or worked on during lessons. I have been teaching private music lessons for more than 30 years at my home and at my student's homes.  After I received my Master's degree I obtained my teaching certificate in vocal and instrumental music for grades K - 12.  I taught vocal music for the Jersey City Board of Education and later I taught strings for the  Kearny Board of Education.  I prepared students for auditions and recitals always encouraging them to practice and learn music theory and music history.
