Im a retired band director of 25 years in the Dallas ISD on all levels. I enjoy teaching privately. I have a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of North Texas, and Masters of Science in Music Technology from Indiana University Purdue University at Indianapolis. I love to watch my students grow as they take to improve on technique, tone and etc. I give students homework to practice and encourage regular practicing. I have been teaching since age 15 (1999). In addition to extensive performing experience on clarinet, I have functioned as a piano accompanist, choir member, and praise band member through the years. I've been teaching privately for about 15 years, starting when I was a student at Rutgers University in New Jersey. Since that time, I've taught students on Saxophone, Flute, and Clarinet at all levels, from beginners all the way to advanced players in high school. My focus as an undergraduate was in jazz performance, and I love to teach about jazz techniques, beginning to advanced improvisation, and group dynamics. I have earned Honorable Mention in the OU Concerto Competition, and I received the Most Outstanding Clarinet Studio Member as a sophomore. I was also the clarinetist in the Undergraduate Woodwind Quintet. As a member, we placed 2nd in the OkMEA Regional Chamber Competition.
