I am a classically trained cellist and a winner of many awards. I have performed solo, chamber, and orchestra concerts throughout the US. My erformances in New York City include Carnegie Hall, Weill Recital Hall, Steinway Hall, Cami Hall, Zankel Hall, The Open Center, The Tibetan House, and Avery Fisher Hall. My work with cello students of various abilities and performance-related injuries has inspired me to develop the Energy Efficient Cello Technique that helped many students play the cello with ease and pain-free. Usually in my lessons I like to hear the student play something from start to finish just so I can listen and take in what exactly a student's strengths and weaknesses are. Encouraging strengths, and praising accomplishments, is a great way to help a student to progress. I try not to dwell on mistakes or weaknesses but try to demonstrate or push the student in the right direction. Read More

I love cultivating an environment for young ones that both excites them and keeps them learning as much material as possible from the get-go. Young students are incredibly smart and spongey and I love learning from my own students the growth and knowledge that is actually possible to cultivate in young students. As an instructor, its important to me that my students are developing both their skills and their love for music at an equal rate. I do this by assigning exercises and material that will be both rewarding and fun for the student. I also set timely goals so that they have something to look forward to in their next lesson. During my lessons, I also do a lot of mirroring (showing how I play a certain passage with my instrument) so that they can visualize the proper implementation of a passage. Read More

The most rewarding part of being a teacher is to see your students grow and love their musicianship. Music is a language that is more universal than any other language in the world! Passing on the knowledge and works of composers and artists from yesterday to today. I set realistic goals for my students that are achievable and rewarding.
