I primarily use Hal Leonard's Essential Elements books for all of my beginner and intermediate students, and for adult students, I supplement them with Gabriel Koeppen's Cello Method books. For more advanced students, I will work with their current repertoire to determine what skills they can further develop by assigning them new and more challenging pieces or etudes (such as Popper or Piatti) based on their needs. I assign all of my students age and level-appropriate pieces at regular intervals in addition to their books or etudes, ranging from short and simple pieces to highly technical showpieces or concertos. If desired, I also guarantee you will be playing a blues and improvising within a maximum of 6 weeks as long as you practice at least 10 minutes, three times a week.  You will have the option of playing along with recordings minus your part so that you can experience the joy of ensemble playing early on in the safety of your own home. I love creating small ensemble groups of students at similar levels and arranging concerts at regular intervals. I am a cellist currently living in NYC, and have am experienced in performing, recording, and teaching experience. I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2014, where I received my Bachelor's degree in cello performance. There, I studied classical, rock, folk, and improvisation on the cello. I've had the opportunity to play in Boston's Symphony Hall, as well as many other venues in the city. In 2014, I recorded cello for the Documentary Watchers of the Sky, premeired in the Sundance Film Festival, and from July to October, I performed with the Anna Myer Dance Company in New York City and Boston.    From January- March 2016, I was the cello teacher for the Enriching Lives Through Music program in San Rafael, California. I am a younger instructor who is very excited and passionate about the inter- and intra-personal aspects of music and teaching music. First discovering my love of performing and problem solving through chamber music, I have since received a dual degree from UMass Amherst in Music and Social ThoughtPolitical Economy, and I am now pursuing my Masters of Music in Cello Performance at Boston University.
