I'm a passionate instructor whose goal is to empower students through music. In May 2018, I graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Cello Performance. At BU, I had the opportunity to perform as assistant concertmaster with the University Orchestra, and performed in master classes for Boston Symphony Orchestra members. I also spent a semester studying music in London, at the renowned Royal College of Music. I have played cello since age 4 and piano since age 7. I holds a B.M. in cello performance and composition from Ithaca College, as well as a Masters in cello performance from Boston University. Currently earning a Performance Studies Certificate in Contemporary Classical Music from Boston Conservatory under Rhonda Rider, I perform with the contemporary ensemble there, as well as freelance performing in the greater Boston area. If desired, I also guarantee you will be playing a blues and improvising within a maximum of 6 weeks as long as you practice at least 10 minutes, three times a week.  You will have the option of playing along with recordings minus your part so that you can experience the joy of ensemble playing early on in the safety of your own home. I love creating small ensemble groups of students at similar levels and arranging concerts at regular intervals. I am a younger instructor who is very excited and passionate about the inter- and intra-personal aspects of music and teaching music. First discovering my love of performing and problem solving through chamber music, I have since received a dual degree from UMass Amherst in Music and Social ThoughtPolitical Economy, and a Masters of Music in Cello Performance at Boston University. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with teaching basic music theory, scales, and start with John Thompson's Easiest Piano Course for the piano students. For Cello beginning students, it's very important to have a correct playing position. Therefore, we will spend some time on knowing cello, position for both hands, and then we will start with Suzuki. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. Read More
