I currently work as a pianist for various Ballet companies and have studied music performance at the Juilliard School and San Francisco Conservatory of music. We will learn and explore the capabilities of the very large instrument by studying literature and repertoire that helped develop the instrument into what it is today. For beginning students who are children, for the first lesson i usually ask them to play whatever they have in hand then base on the standard to assign basic practice from the Suzuki cello books. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More

MY name is Oded and I am an Israeli Cellist currently living in NYC. I started playing the cello when I was 4 after watching a video of Yo-Yo Ma perform Elgar Cello Concerto, which made me fall in-love with the sound of the cello. I began my studies in Suzuki method and soon moved to study at a music conservatory in my own town Kfar-Saba, Israel. I then graduated from both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Cello Performance and have been performing around the world as a chamber musician and a soloist ever since, playing in major recital halls such as Carnegie Hall, Avery Fischer Hall, and Tel-Aviv Museum. I try to incorporate some of the student's other interests into the lessons, ie. pop music, art, even science!
