My method and teaching style are one in the same. I am a teacher of music, not a task master. The student will only succeed if he/she sees some success. With a small success, they will continue to learn more. Once students learn something they have in their mind, they usually will stay with music, sometimes for the rest of their lives. I like teaching beginners something easy. Then, I play along with what they learned. Read More

PRACTICE. The bottom line way to get good at guitar is to PLAY IT. We can show you all kinds of techniques and theory but you have to want to pick up that thing and have it in your hands. Fiddle with it during the TV commercials. You have a need to squeeze that neck everyday. Together we can expand your knowledge base, but you hold the ultimate key to your success - practice. My first experience teaching someone was when I was younger in my high school days, I was teaching my 7 year old nephew how to play ukulele which was an arduous task indeed. But through said trails and tribulations we managed to accomplish our goals together. Currently Im teaching guitar at the fine arts academy and I am teaching one student consistently while also substituting occasionally. One thing I have learned through teaching is that actually listening to music during practice is a big help and motivation which I like to include in sessions. Read More

First lesson I start by assessing what level the student is at and what goals they have with their music and develop a lesson plan from there. I focus first on fundamentals of sound and technique to build a foundation for the student then work on scales and repertoire to get them playing music. From there it is a focus on musicality and performance. A lesson plan for example may be working on solo repertoire by breaking down the piece by focusing on different elements that make the song; the scale, they rhythm, certain patterns by measure, techniques required, etc. Read More

My teaching style is based on motivation and fun. It is important to me that each student progresses at his or her own pace. Setting realistic goals for my students to progress and make them interested in learning more. Learning your first song it is very important that's why I let my students will choose their first song to learn. I also introduce music theory at the same time, so the students understand what they are playing. Read More

My teaching experience started early on as a recognized multi instrumentalist even by my friends , I was able to teach them and put musical groups together or join existing ones. Playing various instruments in several different bands at the same time was a challenge but lots of fun, and has continued as of recently. I have played throughout the US and parts of Europe, while also teaching. I studied jazz guitar with Vik Juris and Berklee graduate Dave Rubin. Read More
