My approach is simple - you tell me what your goals are and I help you achieve them. I can help with proficiency, timing, improvisation, technique, composition and am happy to go slowly or quickly. Some students do best with bi-weekly lessons. Others are better suited to weekly instruction. All students are taught how to break music down into simple terms which helps them approach music the right way. Lastly, the more you put into music the more you will get out of it like anything in life. Read More

I want to show you that music can be the most exciting and enriching experience in your life! The best way for a student to grow and succeed as a musician is to enjoy playing. My teaching style is grounded in my own absolute love for music! This passion translates through in my teaching, which hopefully results in successful student learning. I also believe that the teacher needs to develop a rapport with the student, in order for successful learning. Furthermore, as previously stated, I've studied pedagogy at the undergraduate level. I realize what it takes to be a successful teacher, and believe in the importance of exposing young people, as well as folks of all ages, to music and the arts. Read More

I am a dedicated and patient teacher and I am very proud of all the students that I have taught through the years. Its always really exciting to see any progress. While being considerate of the students pace or availabilty, I try to go in small steps that are easily accomplished each week, expecting constancy in the practice. Most cases, 20m/day every day is preferable than practicing for 2 hours straight the day before the lesson. Read More

If you are looking for a Classic teacher with classic teaching methods, you are looking in the wrong spot. I teach with an instant gratification method. You will still be just as skilled (if not more) as the rest of any other musicians out there but what you will have and develop is your own artistry and your own path as a musician. So many teaching styles try to make music more of a science rather than a passion. Read More

I base all my teaching on all the different private lessons I've received over my 10+ years of playing and learning guitar with very different guitarists/musicians. I started playing when I was 11, but I find that for any beginner, it's important to start with material that gets instant "musical" sound from the guitar. I believe this consists on working on basic chords which you can use to start singing songs, or learning some easy riffs or melodies that will have you playing music in a matter of a few weeks.
