So we study chords and rhythms, as they relate to the songs the client enjoys. I like to insert a five to ten minute practice before digging into the main lesson. This involves playing scales or running chord progressions or learning about, for example, the circle of 5ths or 4ths. That means scales and etudes that assist in getting the student familiar with their instrument and proficient on an elementary level. For students who already have some experience with their instrument, I assess the skill level and develop from there. These lessons can be a continuation of building fundamentals or getting into repertoire.
