I've been playing music for most of my life. Growing up my whole family would all gather around the piano while my father played. Seeing how inspiring and influential music could be at a young age helped me to develop a passion for it. I am very grateful to share my passion with others through teaching. I specialize in teaching improvisational styles, such as blues, jazz, and funk. I work with my students to create a good balance of a strong technical foundation and creative jamming skills which builds both the intellectual and intuitive sides of music, and helps them become well-rounded musicians. Playing music is a passion of mine and always makes me happy. Therefore, there is nothing I enjoy more than seeing a student who has been working hard on learning something accomplish their goals and improve. I encourage all students to practice as much as possible. There is no way to improv without practice. In order to keep them interested and make it not seem like they are practicing, I like to assign songs for the student to learn that incorporate the skills we are working on. Read More

I allow students to work at their own pace while also setting realistic attainable goals. I want students to feel relaxed during their lessons so I try to establish an atmosphere that's both informal yet studious. The best way to understand technique and theory is to apply it to something that you enjoy so I always try to attain this! Read More
