The main goal of the lessons is to help the student discover that all laws of music pertain to life; every area of music you explore in the practice room can be applied to situations in the real world, and a deeper love of music will lead you to a deeper love of life. We first must decide what area the student is most apt to explore and make a lesson plan accordingly. Read More

I began teaching students in college, and have consistently taught students of all ages and experience levels. I love being able to help new students along their path to becoming the musician they want to be. I focus my lessons on the students musical interests and apply music theory and proper technique instruction to help them reach their goals. As someone who loves learning themselves, I also love passing knowledge on to new students and instilling a love of learning that will take them to the level of musicianship that they want to achieve. Everyone is different. Therefor, every student should have their own unique lesson to fit their own needs and wants as a musician and student. I've been playing bass for 13yrs and guitar for about 9yrs. I started out learning to play bass in the church and took lessons from the Pastor's son for a few months. Eventually became self-taught and learned from bassists that I admired and formed my own style of playing. I went on to teach friends, family, and church folk what I know about bass and music. I have played in a few church bands as well as rock and punk bands in the Southern California area. Read More

I started teaching two years ago at a private lesson studio in Denver called My Music Skool. My main focus was on piano and saxophone. Now I teach privately as a freelance musician. Two points I emphasize when teaching are practicing at least once a day no matter how long you play and learning what inspires you. There will always be some sort of theory I sneak in whether it's learning scales or building technical skills that will build confidence and ability, but if these devices aren't being applied to the type of music that inspires the student, then learning music becomes discouraging instead of fun.
