I have a degree from Wayne State University where I studied Jazz Guitar and Music technology. I've played in bands ranging from Big Band Swing to Country to Punk Rock playing guitar, bass and piano/keyboards. My studio is equipped with two amplifiers and the ability to record the student for playback. This provides a chance to hear oneself. In addition to this I have a library of sheet music including instructional books. Read More

This quickly became someone that I loved to do, and I continued teaching through my four years at Western Michigan Univerisity, working with students of all ages and abilities. For beginning students, I like to begin with the importance of posture, vocal health, and breathing techniques. Building these early foundations to then hone and have for future instruction is extremely valuable to maintaining a healthy singing style. Once students are comfortable with these skills, we can begin really looking into the music. Based on student's skill levels, pieces will be suggested/given to students. Students will be expected to practice at home outside of lessons in order to best benefit from lesson time. Read More

I like to teach at your pace. If you want me to teach you songs, we can learn tabs and chords. Also, I can teach fundamental music theory which includes things like scales so you can solo on your guitar in certain keys of the song. The theory will also tell you which chords you can play, so if someone says play in G minor, you know what notes are the right ones to play. Read More
