Depending on the style, genre that the student wants to learn, I make sure they have enough resources to practice themselves in their own home. For children, I try to keep it as light and fun so they won't burnout over the long journey of learning music. Also, I can teach fundamental music theory which includes things like scales so you can solo on your guitar in certain keys of the song.
