I like to teach at your pace. If you want me to teach you songs, we can learn tabs and chords. Also, I can teach fundamental music theory which includes things like scales so you can solo on your guitar in certain keys of the song. The theory will also tell you which chords you can play, so if someone says play in G minor, you know what notes are the right ones to play. Read More

I teach beginning students both by rote and through reading. We use standard Suzuki books for repertoire and method books such as Wohlfahrt, Mazaz, and Sevcik. Very young students begin on Sassmanshaus since it is very engaging as well as well written. However if there is a specific book a student wants to learn from (such as a book from school or a specific style such as country or fiddle) then I am more than willing to teach from that. Read More

I'm very friendly and patient. Learning music should be enjoyable, and never a burden. My students learn at their own pace and have fun doing it. I'm happy to work with youngters, providing they have a basic grasp of letters and numbers.
