I started playing upright bass when I was 10 years old and quickly found that there was nothing that I enjoyed more than music. For beginning students who are younger I typically start with Faber and Faber's Piano Adventures. If a student is older I will put them in the accelerated method or the adult method. I will sometimes supplement with Alfred's Premier series or Music Tree. Once a student has progressed to a certian level, I will introduce other piano literature to supplement the method book learning. I try to best fist the goals of my students whether that is starting from the beginning with traditional piano lessons or to achieve some other goal or purpose. Read More

As previously stated, I believe that each session should be individualized to best suit each student's needs. For a typical beginner, I will first teach posture and note identification followed by basic warm-ups. Once the basics are taught, the student will be allowed more flexibility in the repertoire and specific skills he/she wants to learn.
