Once the students has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. Depending on the instrument, I will bring in another method book specific to that instrument book and we will also use some sort of etude book. As the student progresses with either instrument, I try to encourage them to continue with scales and to move up in their playing abilities and music reading.
