My goal in being a teacher is to bring that feeling of fun, satisfaction, and calm that I get from music to the generation or to anyone who wishes to learn. I taught music theory and musicianship at Johns Hopkins University from 2007 to 2017. I have also previously taught at Towson University and the University of Arkansas. I have taught private lessons in guitar, piano, composition, music theory, and musical arrangements off and on for the past 16 years. Ive been in choirs (from community to All-State) since I was born, literally - my mom was the church choir director, and I followed suit, assisting her and student-directing my high school choir. I started piano lessons in 4th grade and used it to compose my own music and play in churches since then. I began studying violin in kindergarten via the Suzuki Method and played in the Trevecca Symphony Orchestra in Nashville, TN from 2007-2018. Read More

I want to make sure my students are comfortable with what they are doing even when they are outside of their comfort zone. There is such a thing as too far so pushing them outside their limit is unhelpful in a private lesson. I want the student to feel excited and accomplished in what they are doing because everyone's musical journey is different, even if students are starting from the same skill level they will have different things they have to work on to become better musicians. I've taught students of all ages, five(5) and up, and abilities for more than 30 years. The curriculum at N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov Children's Music School in Mykolaiv helped me prepared my students for earning high scores on their academic music examinations, participate in annual national music competitions and programmed regional music recitals , with several of my students winning first place awards and continuing their pursuit of becoming a musicians at the post- secondary education level. My teaching experience comes from teaching the previous two years at Stone House Jam Academy in Bel Air, MD. During my time there, I taught guitar, piano, ukulele, drums, bass, and music theory/ear training. I taught everyone from the ages of 6 to 60.
