Hello Im 24 Im an energetic and peppy music loving person! I can take 30 minutes or 45 minute classes I really enjoy working with kids they make me smile and make me wonder how this can be called work when it makes me so happy to educate them about music. However I would be willing to work with any ages I just have more experience teaching kids ages 8-13. I was an assistant voice instructor at Empire music in Mount Lebanon Pennsylvania as a local singer, songwriter, keyboardist, actress, and composer, I studied voice, songwriting, music composition audition prep, acting and piano for many years. My teaching experience dates back to around 2017 when I first took a class in vocal pedagogy. In the class, I learned about the inner workings of the voice, the musculature and how to properly teach voices of any age. Since then, I have been working diligently to relay the most valuable information from my own teachers to my own students including proper breath support, open throat singing, and above all, having fun while doing so. I prefer to start with vocal techniques such as efficient breathing, posture, diction, and overall vocal warm ups. This gives me a gage of what my students learning style is. Also, this gives me an idea of what the student needs to progress in a healthy singing! I typically start with a students favorite song within the genre theyre most interested in. I believe that a student will work to the fullest if they are truly passionate about the work they are learning. Read More

My teaching experience rests in observations and with my peers. I have taught multiple classes and sectionals on my own in my now 4 year college career both in ensembles and in my host schools. I have taught a lesson on Music Theory, going over some core concepts that can be found there, I have taught 3rd grade students songs in a general music classroom, I have led a lesson there as well, making sure that each student stays focused on the task before them, and I have lead sectionals for Concert and Chamber Choir here at Lebanon Valley College. My materials and methods differ depending on the pupil's age/ability. For a young 11 year old beginner, homework assignments will begin with the instrument itself, and then eventually Book One of any method book desired. Popular practice dictates good results with books like Yamaha and Standard of Excellence. For middle-level ability (middle school / early high school), the Rubank series is perfect. Finally, with middle and above levels; solos, ensemble work, duets, and additional etude books will be used. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice
I have started teaching shortly before college, and have a proven track record of working as an independent instructor and part of teaching collectives. I am a member in good standing with both MTNA and MSMTA, and have been consistently teaching students out of my home studio for the past 15 years. With younger students, I prefer emphasizing habit formation, such as setting a practice schedule, regularly committing to a set amount of practicing time, and develop a passion for the piano. For a beginner student, I tend to use the Rubank method books there are several for specific instruments. This book is just a guide though the majority of my lessons are student based. I take into consideration their level and what they can accomplish in their own practice and dedication. For adults or advanced students I want to see where they are and what they need help or work with. Read More
