About 10 years a go, I began teaching on the side. I now have 30+ students. Some come to my home and some at a studio in St. Clair Shores. My goal is to get my singers performing as much a s possible. We have a standing performance at a local coffee house every month as well as an annual recital. I do not provide a strict curriculum. Instead, I form lessons based on student's needs as I feel this is more effective and more personalized. Things that we may explore include; warm-ups, posture, breathing techniques, tongue twisters, learning to read notation, and rhythm. I began teaching youth choirs right after graduating High School. With excellent instruction, I began a more studied teaching approach through my pedigogy class at Central Michigan University. Also, I helped my fellow classmates prepare for their performances. I am beginning to teach privately after continuing my vocal study with a Vocal Coach in the Detroit area.
