My student load for teaching was quite large right off the bat, but I found out quickly that it was absolutely wonderful to teach so many different kinds of singers! The students I teach at the college are mostly Theater Arts majors, but all of them enjoy learning a basis in classical technique. As a young teen, I performed on the Tony Grant, Stars of Tomorrow show in Atlantic City, N.J. every summer. I also competed in the Talent America competition, winning first place in the teen vocal division. All through my school years, I actively participated in my church and school choir which I feel helped develop the discipline needed for pitch and rhythm synchronization within a group. I have always been passionate about music! I started taking lessons at 8years old and haven't stopped since. I knew right away that this was my calling, that music was going to be my life. I started teaching before I even graduated high school, helping and learning from my own instructors who helped me become a great teacher myself! Sight singing, aural skills, music theory, and efficient practice techniques will all be at the forefront. I will use a combination of sight singing exercise books and real literature to help my students fine-tune their choral singing skills at an individual level.
