For ukulele, I like to use Hal Leonard ukulele method books. For my little singers I like to use Blankenbelhers Singing Lessons for Little Singers to get them started. For my adults I like to use Absolute Beginners - Voice to show them vocal warm ups, breathing exercises and more. Read More

I use my own materials and lesson plans based on my past experiences and education. For beginners, I will generally start with simple songs like Sweet Home Alabama, I Love Rock n Roll, and Heathens. These are all songs that can be played and sung simply and most students have heard them already! For beginning vocal students, I start by simply teaching a student how to warm up; from there, we work together to determine what a student's natural strengths and weaknesses are and select repertoire that the student is personally interested in that is also appropriate to their level of proficiency.
