I grew up around music, so it is a huge part of my life. I have been playing the drums, piano, and organ for over 20 years, and singing even longer and teaching/coaching/instructing for 10 years. I have performed in (literally) thousands of events, including concerts, church and memorial services, weddings, funerals, parties, theme park openings, and national/international conferences across many states and countries, to include NY City/State, WA, TX, NE, GA, FL, NC, VA, MD, NJ, PA, IA, DE, CT, and also in Germany, Japan, England, and Qatar, with over 3,000 students/mentees. My methods are specific for age and advancement. For younger and/or beginner level students I work mostly on ear training. This includes the ability to match pitch, sing a scale in different keys, sing different intervals in different keys, sight-read and rhythm. When I give a student a song, I specify a song for their level and sometimes I have them pick a song they want to do for fun. Read More

I am a performing musician and i have performed for various bands and music groups in different continents. I do this because I love music, and I love helping others love music. So, while I do want the students to be very proficient musicians, I am mostly concerned in helping cultivate the student's passion for music. After all, if the student doesn't love the music, it's not near as urgent to practice and produce results. The love of the music is what drives the practice. She has also served as the artistic director for the Summer Vocal Program at Peiwen School of Peking University, China. Ms. Haiyan S, has performed as a Studio Artist with the L’Arte Del Bel Canto in Milan, Italy on multiple occasions.
