I began teaching music lessons at Lewis Music in downtown Kissimmee, Florida in 2004. In the years that have followed I have had students from 5-90 years old and from every background imaginable. Each student is unique so I have learned to adapt to each students goals and preferences. While I sometimes recommend rep for certain students, I like to begin with songs that are meaningful to them, provided that I see no way it could be harmful to their voice. If the student feels insecure (all too common of a problem) I try to help them feel relaxed and comfortable while boosting their confidence. Before earning my bachelor's degree in K-12 Music Education in 2020, I held a longtime position as a tenor vocalist and choral leader with First Christian Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and post-degree as a K-12 music teacher in dual-language immersion public schools and technology-focused charter schools in the Twin Cities metropolitan area.
