I am passionate about working with people of all ages, and helping them grow as musicians and develop a lifelong love of music.  After I graduated college in 2004, I went on to teach music in Wisconsin, Hawaii, and now Washington. I have taught voice lessons to a wide range of students of different ages and abilities, and have also taught beginning piano lessons. Through music I have performed across the United States in places such as the Kennedy Center.  I have also toured Europe twice as part of different choral ensembles, and sung in the most amazing cathedrals and castles. I began my musical journey as a singer, moving towards piano and guitar throughout my formative years. I like to implement the Hanon exercises for scales and warm-ups, also focusing on things like scales and arpeggios. For the guitar, I like to incorporate these concepts with chordal exercises as well, such as playing progressions to let the student's fingers grow accustomed to their forms. The atmosphere of my lessons is always calm, happy, playful, and fun. Each lesson varies according to the needs and level of the student. A typical lesson starts out with a greeting and catch up on the students week, then we get into some kind of technique exercise, scales, and arpeggios. Then we move onto a fun musical piece.
