I use a variety of materials for voice students. I may ask that my voice students purchase books of repertoire that contain songs useful for building on their strengths and working on their weaknesses. Alysha S is a classically trained vocalist who performs and teaches all styles of singing, specializing in classical, jazz, folk, pop, soul, and world music. She is also a hand percussionist and percussion teacher. In addition to these instruments, she plays guitar, mandolin, mountain dulcimer, and she makes electronic music with Ableton Live. Every student is different and has different dreams, needs and goals. So, my teaching style relies heavily on communicating with my students and their parents, if applicable. My first lesson is focused on setting goals for yourself and unearthing musical dreams and ideas. The following lessons are about hitting that goal as soon as possible. Once that goal is hit, I set another goal with you, and so on.
