I'm very passionate about teaching and love to work with all ages of students. I had a studio in Mountain Top, PA for 25 years until our family moved to Utah. I recently relocated to the Lehigh Valley. I've performed with many orchestras and have coached many students to be able to compete and perform at Carnegie Hall for many years. I take great pride in being able to teach on an individual basis, meaning I teach according to what the student needs and wants to be taught. Read More

I am a very detail oriented teacher. Once a student gets a new piece of music I like for them to gain a general idea of how the music goes. We then begin to do more specific work. Once the student is comfortable with the notes and rhythms, together break down each phrase to make sure the technique is consistent. Because I believe every student is different and may need to receive information in a different way than another student, I can tell a student what is happening technically or I can explain it in a way that Read More

In my lessons, you can expect to learn how the voice works, what works best for your voice, how to use language as an avenue for healthy singing, and try new things you might need more clarification on at first. A part of music-making is making mistakes and learning and growing from them: we can make that happen together. I like to tell my students to be confident. Dont be afraid of what sounds your voice may makeany sound can be produced and made healthily. Read More

As a student, I would dread the idea of a boring practice, therefore as a teacher, I do all I can to make lessons engaging and useful. I believe that music should be approached holistically and with an open mind rather than trying to force one method to work for everyone, so I strive to tailor my methods according to the needs of each of my students. With that in mind, I usually start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements for young students, and our lessons will consist of playing from the book, as well as working on crucial skills like ear training and improvisation. I teach every student at their own pace. There is never any pressure and I always acknowledge and praise their efforts and accomplishments. Once I get to know the student and their motivation, inspiration and desires, we build a better understanding of each other. I am very personable, creative and I can always adjust to an individual's needs. I love music just as much as my students do, so the more time we spend helping each other grow and be musical, the easier it is to feel the support and energy come alive during our time together. Instruments: Voice
When I first start working with students, I strictly work on warmups for a few lessons. The first lesson is usually when students get their jitters out about singing in front of someone and learn that I'm really not a scary person. I also get to know where their voice sits, what is beautiful about their voice and what we could work on. Once there is comfort between myself and the student, I will start teaching them technique to create more comfort and ease in their production of tone. Read More
