I feel that if I want to be effective in how I teach, I always need to keep an open mind and even change the way I do things to cater to the individual student. My job is to be here for the student in whatever capacity they need me. I can push them really hard and really fast, or I can move as slow as they need to. I never liked having a teacher that yelled at me or said words I found discouraging.....it certainly didn't make me look forward to going to the lessons. Read More

If I were to describe my teaching approach in a few words, those words would be fun, flexibility, patience, and excitement.When a student has a breakthrough with their singing, confidence, their self- or kinesthetic awareness, whatever it may be, I get so excited; it is really cool to see the look on a student's face and hear the excitement in their voice when they really "get" something!For me and as experienced by most of my students, voice lessons are about so much more than just learning to sing. Whenever I give a student a critique, I always begin by saying something positive they did. Then I explain the critique and how they can improve the next time. I want my students to feel like they have accomplished something, while knowing that there is always room for improvement. Positive reinforcement always keep the students motivated.
