I focus a lot on understanding music from the piano so I feel very happy when they can demonstrate good musicianship skills in challenging settings. I believe in acquiring a global understanding through a multiplicity of styles. Jazz and classical are my points of departure and then I incorporate different material as you develop your skills. I have several method books that I use including "Mastering Piano Technique", "Manual of Scales and Arpeggios", "The Jazz Theory Book" and "Harmony and Theory" by Keith Wyatt to name a few. I'm an experienced singer and musician with a large background in performing, music theory, and writing music. I studied piano for 12 years and have been singing my whole life. I have studied musical theater, opera, classical, and pop music over the years. I've performed in many musicals, operas, and cabaret shows throughout high school and college, and have been in a number of pop/rock bands from 2010 to the present. Read More
