Instruments: Piano Guitar Voice Ukulele
For beginning students on instruments, I begin with a method book, usually Hal Leonard Essential Elements for Guitar and Ukulele, and Piano Discoveries for young beginning pianists, and Piano Adventures for older beginning pianists. From there, I follow my students' interests. For voice, we begin with breathing techniques and vocalizing, and then follow the student's interests from there. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice
It has been a humbling privilege of mine to perform around the world and I have had the opportunity to perform in David Geffen Hall in NYC, Carnegie Hall, Kimmel Center in Philadelphia as well as major venues in Kansas City, Chicago, Ireland, Italy, and Spain. I was a member of the world-renowned Westminster Choir for 2 years during my graduate program and, in 2017, we had the honor of representing the United States at the World Choral Symposium in Barcelona, Spain. I have over 10 years of experience teaching Piano, Voice, and Spanish. I travel to my students, giving them the luxury and comfort of being able to take lessons in their own homes. I also teach virtual lessons and have students who have been taking virtual lessons with me for over 4 years now. I teach all ages (5 years old-adults of all ages and beyond 65). I am classically trained and can also teach other desired genres such as blues, funk, jazz, pop, and so much more. Read More
Instruments: Voice
My goal is to promote healthy singing habits that last a lifetime. I'm very passionate about sharing my love of music with all the students that I teach. Every voice is unique and specific achievable long term and short term goals need to be set accordingly. I don't believe in forcing one style of music onto my students. There interest are very important and goals are set together. There's many different styles of repertoire that can yield similar results. Read More
Instruments: Voice
I have a routine that I use for the lesson time--breath exercises followed by the vocal warm up and then working on a piece. During that process I always encourage an open dialogue between myself and every student. I want to student to feel as comfortable as possible and always have the option to ask questions and take part in their development as a singer. My goal is to provide a nurturing and inspirational environment for every singer, despite that individual's level of singing or experience. Read More
Instruments: Piano Guitar Voice Violin
My teaching style is defined by a combination of high standards, understanding, nurture and patience. I will set realistic goals for each student based on his/her abilities. I will encourage and try new ways to explain or demonstrate a skill that the student is having difficulty with and I will be extremely enthusiastic about their accomplishments. However, I will assertively make it known if the student shows that they have not been practicing in a supportive way. Read More
