Nothing is more rewarding to me than seeing one of my students develop a practice and passion for music! I encourage student's by setting realistic goals at each stage. I began teaching when I was a freshman in High School and I continued with a full-time load of students throughout all four years because of how much I loved it! Eventually adding some beginner adult students into my rotation of kids as well! I taught a few college level students throughout my college years whenever I could and took on summer students during my breaks! When a new student comes in for their first lesson, I always make sure that they have a grasp of the fundamentals. Without the fundamentals it is very easy to develop poor technique that will at best limit them in what can be accomplished on the instrument, and at worst lead to pain or injury from playing. Once we are comfortable with the fundamentals I want to start making music with them as soon as possible. Read More
