I LOVE teaching, and I have chosen to teach privately because I enjoy the one-to-one interactions with my students.  I can actually get to know each of my students, and I use my knowledge of each new student's goals, temperament, age and learning style to tailor each lesson. For me, it's about building or finding moments. Finding out what is going to motivate you to learn that song, practice that chord, and try to instill the desire to show it off for next time. Once I find out where the student is at, wether they are learning their first chords or songs, or they have been trying for a while or just getting back to their old habit of picking up the instrument, the goal is to set the mark where one will wait eagerly for the next lesson, to show off their new found skill.
