I believe it is really important to hone your craft on stage, in addition to constant practice in the studio and at home. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. I approach teaching in a very relaxed manner. If my students learn in a certain type of way I will differentiate my teaching style to accommodate them. I believe all students can learn and enjoy music, it is just a matter of finding the way that speaks to them the most. I do this by first seeing their experience level, asking where they are hoping to be, setting realistic goals, and by acknowledging their mile stones to keep their motivations high. Read More
