My methods are unique and effective. First I share with my students the history and culture of the instrument. Then I teach how the instrument works, explaining every detail. I use simple exercises that quickly ingrain a foundation for progression. Next I build confidence by playing along in collaboration, while teaching synchronization and tempo. With drumming, I like to incorporate concepts such as polyrhythms, an understanding of different genres, improvisation, and ear training.
