My favorite moments while teaching is the light bulb moments, for these to occure lessons are goal based and created around the students level of exsperiece, future goals, and personal goals. In the first lesson we set mini goals for each lesson, medium goals for the month, and large goals for something we want to work towards or a up and coming competition. I use a positive environment to help student feel good about their accomplishments, but also have them discover areas of improvement by recording them or asking them what they feel they did well and what they feel they need to work on. My intense love and dedication to the study and performance of music is reflected in both my teaching and guidance of all my students. I have my Bachelor of Music in Voice with a focus in Music Education/Choral Conducting, and a Master of Music in Voice Performance. During these degrees, I studied vocal pedagogy extensively and began my private studio. I fully believe in the philosophy of hard work. Anyone can sing as long as they are able to put in the time and effort. I looks for students who want to work hard and have fun while doing what they love! Read More

I believe in student-driven goal setting, so my students and I set a goal for each lesson. This allows them to push themselves but staying comfortable while doing so. Students will learn at their own pace while being supported and encouraged to push themselves outside of their comfort zones. My belief system is rooted in celebrating any and all progress and small victories. With a supportive teacher, a student can do anything! Read More

My goal is to give my students the ability to self assess. They should be able to feel when they are singing correctly, without me always pointing it out. They learn these skills through scales, basic anatomy and physiology, physical exercises, visualization etc. I am kind, patient, supportive, and always do my best to uplift my students. I give them many tools to work with. I make sure they have scales to practice, either by recording their lesson or by sending them digital files via e-mail. Read More

There really is no limit to which methods work for people. Every person learns their own way, and it is true that a variety of methods work for an individuals learning process. I enjoy employing all ways of experiencing music including playing by ear, reading sheet music, learning music theory and its practical applications, as well as playing with others and truly feeling what the music is wanting to say.
