I believe in student-driven goal setting, so my students and I set a goal for each lesson. This allows them to push themselves but staying comfortable while doing so. Students will learn at their own pace while being supported and encouraged to push themselves outside of their comfort zones. I began teaching youth choirs right after graduating High School. With excellent instruction, I began a more studied teaching approach through my pedigogy class at Central Michigan University. Also, I helped my fellow classmates prepare for their performances. I am beginning to teach privately after continuing my vocal study with a Vocal Coach in the Detroit area. For younger students, I use a variety of material but very much like The Royal Conservatory Program. In the age of, "American Idol", "The Voice" and "Glee", everyone wants to be a star overnight. I began my work as Music Director at Old St. Patrick's Church, part of the Diocese of Lansing. During my time there, I was able to develop a relevant choral program based on the characteristics and aesthetics of the parish. The choir grew, and I improved the vocal and musical skills of all its members, which allowed us to effectively support all liturgies. We performed several concerts focused on traditional sacred music, including a grand farewell concert at Sweet Heart of Mary Church in Detroit in June of 2022. Read More
