My teaching style is individualized to meet the needs of the students. I like to use a portion of the first lesson to discuss the goals and musical interest of the student regardless of age. I encourage beginner students to learn basic theory to develop rudimentary skills. I then try to incorporate a student’s favorite music into the lesson plans. I love all genres of music and I motivate and encourage my students to explore music in that way. I love to have fun with teaching and competition so I encourage students who are interested in a performing career to perform live in talents shows , community events, family parties and gatherings so that they are able to have the experience amongst there peers and family. If you're a beginner, you were put in a beginning class. this makes it very difficult for students to advance quickly because they aren't playing music with people who are more advanced than them. I make sure the students have the ability to play the instrument before they learn a ton of theory, because knowing how the wrritten form of music work without being able to play them is recipe for frustration.
