I first began teaching in high school at the suggestion of my own piano teacher. I loved the experience from the start - few things are more rewarding than watching a student develop their musical passion and skill from lesson to lesson. Aside from private lessons, I also interned with the Peabody Children's Chorus in MD. Under the instruction of the brilliant choirmaster Doreen Falby, I had the privilege of working with a group of motivated students aged 8-12 where we studied everything from conducting to vocal technique and put on concerts twice a year. Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. Because we all have different begging points. We will set the goals and achieve them together! As far as my methods, I like a healthy, fun approach. I like to keep my students engaged while teaching them proper voice technique. While working with soloist, I focus on the strength of that singer. We will work on what they are good at and make it even better. Also, anything that the student is struggling with, I like to try various methods until the student understands. I like to help children and any person of any age master basic musical skills, improve listening ability, and acquire physical comfort with their instrument voice, piano,and guitar with performing. Intermediate and advanced students learn to read music, improve technical proficiency, and play skill specific repertoire. I like to teach what the student likes to learn and if they want a suggestion I can do that. My goal is to teach all levels and make them better musicians. Read More

I teach every student at their own pace. There is never any pressure and I always acknowledge and praise their efforts and accomplishments. Once I get to know the student and their motivation, inspiration and desires, we build a better understanding of each other. I am very personable, creative and I can always adjust to an individual's needs. I love music just as much as my students do, so the more time we spend helping each other grow and be musical, the easier it is to feel the support and energy come alive during our time together.
