My training begins at age 9, when I receive a scholarship from the prestigious Julio Bocca institution to do musical comedy training. I approach each student differently because each person has different strengths, needs, and goals. No two lessons are ever taught the same way because each one is tailored to the individual. I am happy to work with students on specific repertoire for auditions or other events, and/or on general literature simply for the love of singing and the joy of growth. In 2011, I accepted the position of Visual Caption Head with Weber State Indoor Percussion and helped them win back to back Outstanding Visual Caption awards at the Intermountain Percussion Association Championships. I also trained the 2010 Drum Corps International Drum Majors of the Year for both Open and World Class. I love music and I love teaching! I graduated in 2014 with my Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Utah State University and, in 2018, my Master of Music in Choral Conducting from the University of Kansas. I had the opportunity to be a part of the Chamber Singers at both schools where I was able to perform across Utah as well as Dallas, Kansas City, China and Costa Rica. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level.
