I have taught lessons, throughout college and after, with interests ranging from classical to jazz, rock and pop. Engaging oneself musically every day is a motto of mine, keeping the motions and techniques sharp, as well as the elements of time and immersion that exponentially promote growth and creativity. If there is anything worth learning it is definitely anything that sounds good to you! A good basis of technique and classical styles is huge and I strongly encourage these before anything, but creativity and personal expression are important concepts to invest in. Read More

I am a highly motivated, hard-working, and outgoing individual. I love people and believe thatteachingmusic lessons is one the best ways to connect with students of all ages and develop a relationship with them. I started learning piano in Kindergarten, began Saxophone in my 5th grade Band, and started tutoring other band students in 6th Grade. In 7th Grade I earned scholarship to attend Illinois Summer Youth Music Camp at the University of Illinois. Read More

I have been working as an instructor for over 15 years. I can teach all ages and backgrounds, and have a very patient approach. I recently moved to the Denver area, and I am excited to start up and build a new student base. I do expect my students to practice, as it is the only way a student will improve and grow to love music even more. I encourage my students to get involved in any talent shows at school, as well as any competitions and recitals available in the area. Read More

I have played a wide variety of musical styles on guitar (acoustic and electric), mandolin, piano, ukulele, and percussion. I have toured in more than 30 states in musical acts performing for both adults and children. Read More

I would describe my methodology as strength-based but rooted in patience and enjoyment. As each student brings with them characteristics that are physical, mental as well as emotional, learning these characteristics allows me insights which form the creative process. For example, I had a student years ago that had a finger anomaly (he had been bit on the finger by his wife's cat so we called it "cat scratch finger") and this prevented him from laying his ring finger flat on his fretting hand. For my voice students, I generally do not use a method book since I believe each student will have different goals and different tastes in music. While I believe that classical training is beneficial to develop strong technique, I also know that we can help you to develop a solid technical foundation through all styles of singing including pop, jazz, musical theatre and folk. For your first lesson we will discuss your desires and goals, and from there I will provide sheet music, handouts, and other supplemental materials. Read More

My teaching style is free flowing and depends on the specific student. Everybody's experience with music is different and not everybody will pick things up as quickly as others so you must meet them where they are. Music is nerve-racking at first because expressing ourselves isn't something that is always encouraged so I look for something they are interested in to start off. From there, we build on musicality and find their original response to music. Read More
