I am a multi-faceted professional musician and can be found performing all over New York City and other parts of the country. For the last ten years I have had experience teaching young beginners, high school students, college music majors and secondary non-majors, as well as adult amateurs. My practice is an evidenced-based one. I chose exercises that are specifically tailored to a certain vocal idea or skill that we are working on. From there, we modify the exercise to meet the needs of the student's unique body and other student specific needs (i.e. previous habits, personality type, etc.). Every student learns at a different pace and many students learn differently. Music is an aural art form and I've found that many younger students haven't always heard a lot of music. I like to incorporate listening and appreciation in those cases. I like to encourage creativity and share ideas that show the student they can create music of their own.
