Having taught many students over the years, my favorite books for young beginners are the Rubank series and Pares Scale book. These give a good foundation and progression and have easy to read fingering charts. Once a student gets going with these I introduce simple duet books so that, by playing with me, they develop a strong sense of tone and intonation. The first solo books I recommend are collections of solo's by famous composers, these give the student the chance to gravitate toward the style and composer they like best. Read More

My teaching style is simple: let the student decide what they want to pursue, and then push them in that direction! After all, that's how I was trained. My only goal is that the student is excited about what they are learning and playing. I will tailor every lesson plan to the student's personal interests, and make sure that goals are realistic such that the student feels that they are making progress. Read More

Despite his young age, and with a virtuosic personal style, Moshe appears to be one of the most promising pianists among the new generation of Israeli jazz musicians. He is a graduate of Israels Academy of Music, and has played both throughout Israel and abroad with drummer Manu Katche, Producer Lary Klein, singer Mor Karbasi, the Tal Gamlieli Trio, the Yogev Shetrit Trio, and many others. Moshe Completed his Masters degree at the New England Conservatory while performing and recording around the world. Read More

For beginning students I start with an Alfred's beginning drum method to help with reading. We also start on the basic understanding of musical concepts such as tempo, dynamics and so on. While reading is important I do also include learning by wrote or by ear. A good ear is just as important as good reading skills for the complete musician. I always include music that the student is interested in to keep the lessons fun and engaging! Read More

Over 15 years of teaching experience (including being a professor of a music academy), touring, performing at major venues and festivals, recording and leading my own projects. I employ healthy and efficient practicing and teaching technique through relaxation, gradual learning and individual approach. The lessons may also include theory, analysis, basic or advanced composition and many other aspects depending on the student's needs and abilities. The main goal is that my students are able to get fully engaged in the process of learning and enjoy every minute of it! Read More

For all of my students, regardless of level, playing together in lessons is a big part of my teaching method. Playing together in lessons fosters intonation, musical commutation skills and sound blending. For beginning students, I work a lot on sound production and tonguing through progressive etudes and duets. I incorporate performance environments early into my curriculum. For older students, I explore fundamentals through advanced etudes and work on solo repertoire, chamber music and orchestral excerpts. Read More

Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I've also found that a combination of classical and modern music can go a long way in helping students enjoy the piano and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. If a student isn't having fun in their lessons, then I'm not doing my job! Read More
