Hello, I'm Mackenzie B.. I'm currently a student at the University of Kansas for a Bachelors in Music Education. I am student teaching currently, which is my last step before receiving my degree. I currently work with Kerry Marsh for the KU Jazz Singers and enjoy singing both classical and jazz music. I also have two or three ukuleles and enjoy jamming with an acoustic guitar. For beginner Piano students who are young, I teach either from Hal Leonard's Essential Elements or Faber & Faber. Both are great interactive resources that help guide toward mastery of the basics. I also like to include games using flash cards and note names for my youngest students who learn best through a variety of activities. I am a strong believer in students taking charge of their learning, so I like to have my students choose a piece of music of their choice, and I will pick another piece of music that I believe suits their voice.
