I grew up around music, so it is a huge part of my life. I have been playing the drums, piano, and organ for over 20 years, and singing even longer and teaching/coaching/instructing for 10 years. I have performed in (literally) thousands of events, including concerts, church and memorial services, weddings, funerals, parties, theme park openings, and national/international conferences across many states and countries, to include NY City/State, WA, TX, NE, GA, FL, NC, VA, MD, NJ, PA, IA, DE, CT, and also in Germany, Japan, England, and Qatar, with over 3,000 students/mentees. I was always able to sing. I started piano in the 5th grade. I played trumpet in high school and made all state band 3 years in a row. I attended college at Houston Baptist University where I received a full scholarship to study music. Once I graduated I was immediately hired to do a national tour which was followed by 5 others. For beginner students who are children, I tend to lean into the music that they are more fond of listening to and develop an atmosphere of interest while using various colors, singing methods, rhymes that will grasp their attention and in the long run develop their ear.
