Although building technique and comfort are extremely important, I find that the most essential aspect of learning an instrument is to study the music that you love, and I'm definitely open to adding a bit of musical theory to every lesson if the student is interested. I will begin to introduce solo work as skills build, but we will always be working on something that the student genuinely is interested in.
