I have been discovering my love for teaching for the last 5 years. I started within my undergrad school. I graduated from Western Carolina University in May 2015 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance (Classical) as well as a minor in Psychology. I was able to perform my first professional show with Asheville Lyric opera as a chorister in La Traviata in 2012. For beginning students, I use Faber Methods. Once the student has progressed, I would introduce solo repertoire that supports the skills necessary for improvement. Usually, I ask students if they are DYING to learn a piece, and with that selection, I'll look for techniques that can be improved upon. For adults, I try to ask what they are interested in learning, and help gauge the technique into their learning. I personalize my lesson plans and drills to accommodate the student's strengths, weaknesses, and over all goal. I will push you to your limits so you can go even further than you thought you could.
