During my internship with Leaders of Tomorrow Youth Center  and volunteer work with The Cavalier Music Enrichment Program (both based in Baltimore, Maryland), I have taught music to over 250 students. From general music theory to specific instruction in brass, woodwind, and percussion techniques; I have had the privilege to work with students of various ages, spanning from sixth graders to college students. Auditions, and performing in general, are challenging not only physically, but also psychologically. I work with students on developing habits of mindfulness, or being aware of one’s presence in a moment, which can help alleviate performance anxiety and lead to a more thoughtful and inspired performance. By providing students with the tools to overcome psychological barriers, I believe students are better able to find their voice. I am very passionate about music, and I try to motivate my students towards a similar love of music of all styles and genres. In 2014, I have completed my studies at Boston University, where I completed a PhD in Musicology with a focus on jazz of the 1930s and 1940s.
